Sustainability

Sustainability

By Samantha Holyoak, Director @ Jump

Sustainability is a word that gets used a lot. Many would say it’s a buzzword. With the environmental impact of fast fashion coming to light, trying to create a more sustainable ethos has become paramount and companies have been racing to highlight their green credentials.

15 years ago, trying to encourage our clients to use environmentally friendly soy inks and paper and print using sustainable factories was always a “hard sell”. Cost was usually the critical factor that meant the decision was often not to use such eco-friendly print practices.

So it has been inspiring to observe the attitude change towards sustainability. Here are some of our clients who have made it a priority to push forward into the realm of sustainability.

Sheryl Bolden is the author of Sustainably Stylish, a book that looks at what sustainability within the fashion industry is, whilst empowering the reader to become a more conscious consumer. Filled with useful “tips” such as “how to edit your wardrobe”, it is a how to for “shopping sustainably”.

The Jump design team worked closely with Sheryl to conceptualise the design and then complete the press-ready layout of the book.

bbase Design Group is in the global business of eyewear design and manufacturing and is the founder of the bow index (www.thebowindex.com) an industry-first tool that provides deeper insight into sustainable eyewear materials.

“As we move forward on our strategic roadmap, we empower our teams through our global offices, delivering sustainable eyewear solutions for leading fashion retailers & brands in over 65 countries. “ Jo Black, CEO and co-founder of bbase Design Group

Jump was selected by bbase Design Group as the agency to design and build a new virtual platform which will launch later this year.

Don’t Throw Me (DTM) is a brand-new initiative launching in Hong Kong this year. A marketplace for second hand products, passing on once-loved items and giving them a second chance at life. There are many other second-hand selling platforms available but DTM has the added feature of enabling users to not only buy but to swap with other users using the DTM credit system whilst also donating a percentage or all of the cost of the product to charity. The platform provides a wealth of information on how to fix and upcycle products providing truly sustainable options to all.

Jump has been working closely with the DTM team, first on the information site and now finalising the production of the marketplace. Coming soon!

Syncicap is a Hong Kong based joint venture of two industry leaders both with recognised track records of investing in sustainable collective investment funds.

Syncicap selected Jump as the agency to design and build their website to creating a brand aesthetic that would reflect the sustainable aspect of the company.

We look forward to seeing these clients go from strength to strength in their sustainable businesses and hope to work with many more like-minded companies in the future.
