Internet Explorer (IE) retires

On 15 June 2022, Microsoft announced that Internet Explorer had come to the end of its life.

 

I started out my career with Internet Explorer 5 / 6 and already then it was on the path from being the internet's sweetheart to a developer's nightmare. Internet Explorer and Netscape allowed us to see the world without going anywhere, they represented an era of the internet - Web 1.0. Internet Explorer survived and moved on, but without reflecting what the internet needed. It started to divide itself from the world into its own favourite corner. Thank you Internet Explorer for gifting us the ability to see the internet and more importantly for reminding us to keep swimming upstream, otherwise we become obsolete.
